Barry Bonds Perjury Case Update

Yup...Barry Bonds is supposedly going to have to stand trial for perjury for one of the many tax wasting trials the congress has forced on us because they happen to want face time.

The case against Barry Bonds just got a little fuzzier: The prosecution virtually conceded in a Valentine’s Day response to a defense motion to dismiss the indictment that it asked the slugger confusing and often ambiguous either/or questions in the grand jury.

Prosecutors also inadvertently touched off a minor media firestorm by botching the date of an alleged previously reported positive drug test for Bonds. In earlier filings – and even in part of this latest filing – the government referred to a November 2000 date.

Like alarm system monitoring, we need some sort of damned tax system monitoring for these douchebags that work in government. Pay Fox to do these trials. At least they are more capable of handling reality TV than these morons asking the questions in Congress.

Bonds Hit 756

The drama is finally over. Barry Bonds has hit career home run number 756. Now only a few more days of constant Barry Bonds coverage and we can see other nationally televised games besides the San Francisco Giants. You can now use your def leppard tickets and not worry about missing the breaking of the greatest record in all of sports.

Interestingly, Hank Aaron delivered a speech on the Jumo-tron at the game after he broke his record. Aaron has been silent through the entire process of the chase and said he would not be on hand to view the record breaking home run. The media has run with it saying that this is to show that he did not think that Bond's record was worthwhile, and was tainted. Stupid media. At the game he honored Barry and all were happy. Barry broke down during his speech as well when he thanked his father, Bobby Bonds, another all-time great, who had passed away just 2 years earlier. Standing at the side of Barry was his Godfather, the player many say is the greatest player to ever live, Willie Mays.

Barry Bonds hit his 754th HR last night and is now one away from tying Hank Aaron for the all-time HR mark. HE goes against Dontrelle Wilis and the Marlins tonight. Willis has been terrible this year and this could be the day that he ties the record, or even breaks it with the junk this guy throws now. He'll probably walk him at least twice if he can even stay in the game that long.

Barry Bonds is able to leap steel buildings, outrun trains (well not anymore), and fly. We should see a new HR King by the end of the weekend I'd guess, but truly by sometime next week.

Bonds Hits 2 HRs today

Well...it looks like the Evil Barry Bonds is only 2 homers away from catching Hammerin' Hank and his truck toolbox in the all-time HR race. Sitting at 753 career home runs, Bonds needs only 2 to tie Hank Aaron for the most homers by one player in MLB history.

Most people actually care that Barry allegedly used steroids. I do not and never will. The guy still has to hit the ball and swinging a bat is more about speed than anything. Whatever you say about Bonds, this is an amazing accomplishment. Besides...it isn't like he is going to hold this record for more than 10 years anyways. A-Rod is going to hit 1000 HRs.

It's no secret that Bonds is my favorite baseball player ever next to the great Tony Gwynn, but even I was skeptical about how he would do this season. I figured he would be able to break Hank Aaron's career HR mark of 756 this season, but the way he is playing he may get close to 800.

Last I checked he was on pace to hit over 50 again. He is hitting .348 which is going to probably put him in contention for the batting title again like he won a few years back. Considering he gets intentionally walked every other at bat he doesn't need a ton of hits to keep his superb average. When someone pitches to him he usually hits a HR, or at the very least gets a hit. It is not uncommon to see his stat line for a game of 1-2 with a HR and 3 walks.

The guy is just amazing. I don't care if he injects beef roids into his eye. The guy is the best player in the modern era. You still have to hit the ball. Roids aren't going to do that much for you. IF he wasn't such a jerk he would be as big as anyone in sports. He still is, but not in a good way. He may not be endorsing first communion gifts and have a ton of morals, but he certainly is exciting to watch play. When he is in the batter's box everyone just stops to watch.
