Huge Series: Detroit Tigers vs. Minnesota Twins

Two of the hottest teams in baseball will face off today to start a 3 game series and maybe the crown of Hottest Team. Over the last 10 games the Minnesota Twins are 9-1, while the Detroit Tigers are 8-2. The twins have won 11 of their last 12, and the Tigers have won 17 of their last 21. The Tigers finally broke through yesterday to get over .500 after a long struggle early on. Certainly gift baskets would be nice, but things aren't going to get any easier this week.

The Twins are currently 1.5 games back of the White Sox for the AL Central division lead, while the Tigers linger at 5 games back. This series certainly has positive implications for Chicago, but the Twins and Tigers are certainly much hotter right now. Someone is going to lose this series. Tigers have won 6 straight series, while Minnesota has won their last 5.

the central division race is heating up, and the 2 hottest of those teams will find out just who is really the hottest this week. They also go head to head next weekend so things could really start to show themselves over the next couple weeks.
