The Angels could attempt to suspend Gary Matthews Jr. or void his five-year, $50 million contract if the outfielder doesn't come clean on his alleged purchase of HGH, a major league source told the New York Daily News.
Good luck with that. It's hard to blame Matthews for not talking, regardless of what he may or may not have done. Even Jason Giambi never truly admitted using steroids. If the Angels try disciplining Matthews for allegedly receiving HGH at a time when it wasn't even on MLB's banned substances list, they're going to face a grievance and almost certainly lose it. Matthews owners should be more worried about what all of this pressure is going to do to his game mentally than the rumors of a suspension from either MLB or the Angels. read more...
